The map above shows a last-minute proposal by the City of San Diego Planning Department for our Community Plan Update. The areas in yellow (along Governor Drive and adjacent streets) are proposed to be REZONED to Medium Density Townhome use, with 20 to 36 dwelling units per acre.
The city is branding this as “SB9 implementation”, but it goes well beyond what Senate Bill 9 allows. Rezoning will also strip away SB9 protections that prevent streets from being taken over by developers.
